Open-source Bitcoin wallets for community-led financial freedom.

Self-custody Bitcoin, built for the communities it serves.

WizeBitcoin is an open-source wallet platform for transparent, user-controlled Bitcoin. It is being developed as a shared self-custody core and backend for simple wallet experiences tailored to the people and communities they serve.

Rizq, designed for Muslims worldwide, and Azadi, designed for people in Pakistan, are the first two proposed wallets. The same foundation is intended to enable independent teams to build additional country-, diaspora-, and community-focused wallets.
The first proposed wallets

Different communities. One shared self-custody foundation.

Rizq and Azadi will share the exact same open-source wallet core and backend. Their differences are intentional: community focus, identity, language support, visual design, and locally relevant user experience.

Future independent wallets — country, diaspora, and community teams can build and operate their own versions on the open-source core, with shared platform and marketplace participation envisioned for builders that meet evolving guardrails.
Product philosophy

Bitcoin utility without unnecessary complexity.

The goal is a simple, unified self-custody experience for everyday transactions, balance management, and access to longer-term Bitcoin savings—without asking ordinary users to master every technical layer underneath.

  • Bitcoin-only in purpose, not a general altcoin wallet.
  • Open to carefully evaluated Bitcoin-adjacent technology and stable-value functionality when needed for useful payments, accounting, exchange connectivity, or related services.
  • Designed to make transparent, user-controlled money practical for everyday people and local communities.
  • Built to invite thoughtful technical, security, market, and governance input before product choices are finalized.
Designed to connect

Interoperability is part of the vision.

The platform is intended to support user-authorized interoperability with Bitcoin-native applications and services. The final architecture, permissions, data flows, and user protections are open for partner input.

BitBooks

A Bitcoin-native accounting and payments example: the wallets are intended to support authorized payment initiation and received-payment data flows for accounting workflows.

B

Bitcredit

An example of a Bitcoin-native trade-credit protocol the platform may evaluate for interoperability as partners refine the technical and product design.

B

Bercantile

An example of a Bitcoin-based commercial trade platform for buying and selling goods at wholesale or manufacturer level, subject to integration, user-protection, and market-design work.

Where partners can help

Three questions worth solving together.

This concept is deliberately broad enough to invite expertise without pretending that key design choices have already been settled.

01

Product and user experience

How can self-custody Bitcoin become genuinely simple for everyday payments, balance management, and savings?

02

Self-custody and security architecture

What open-source approach best supports user-controlled funds, recovery, privacy, safe interoperability, and access across Bitcoin payment and savings layers?

03

Responsible market and partner design

How should community variants, Sharia review, jurisdictional boundaries, user protection, and optional service relationships be designed responsibly?
